Prosthetic makeup and animatronics was the combination needed for this commercial with Bandai toys.
We were asked to create a fun bizarre family. A family that would definitly stand out anywhere. Even on a Halloween night on Hollywood Boulevard this family would have to stand out.
After the drawings were oked it was time to construct the makeup. To do that we had to take life casts of the three actors that were hired for the commercial. Sculptures were then done over the actors life casts, to make for perfect fitting appliances. Mechanical eye controls were designed for two of the actors using radio controlled servos. This created highly controlled movements for the oversized eyes. Air brushing and hair punching put the finishing touches on the prosthetic masks. Functional hands and feet appliances were also called for in this commercial.
