"A cellular phone that will come on the TV screen and dance, Oh and have it do some acrobatics."

That was the task we had given to us by Radio Shack. This entaled the making of a giant cell phone that could be worn by an actor for the dance part and a Rod Puppet to do the acrobatics.
Radio Shack wanted an exact copy of their then new cellular phone. Using fiberglass, plastics, aluminium, bondo and various gel media a body suit and a miniture rod puppet were made that duplicated the real phone so closely that on cameria during the blue screen it was impossible to tell to tell which was which.

The shoot took three days but the results were a memorable commercial that was a seemless blend of puppetry, and bodysuit work.

The commercial has run for 3 years and is currently still in use.
